Environmental Aspects of Mining Other Research Interests Teaching
Much of my early academic work centered around field studies and modeling of lakes, continental seaways, geothermal energy, Carlin type ore deposits and understanding bedded barite in the geologic record. In most cases, I am no longer pursuing research in these areas. Links to this early work are provided below.
Lakes:
- 2003 article on methane genesis (Environmental and Engineering Geoscience)
- 1998 article on Uinta Mountain, Utah lakes (Utah Geological Association)
- 1995 articles on surface water biogeochemical models (part 1 and part 2) (Water Resources Research)
- 1992 book chapter on lakes anoxia (John Hunt memorial book)
Continental Interior Seaways and Borderland Basins:
- 1996 article on continental interior seaways (American Journal of Science)
- 1995 article on globe-encircling oxygen and nutrients (Geology)
